I started with Seth, having already done five years of lessons. Seth identified areas that needed improvement and set about putting together a program to address those deficiencies and to reinforce my fundamentals. Listening to recordings of myself last year as compared to now, the improvement is very apparent. Seth has an incredible command of not only the instrument and music theory but is also a very patient and engaging teacher. If you can obtain a lesson slot, then no matter your skill level, you'll improve under Seth's tutelage.

I've been working with Seth for over a year now (online), and I would very strongly recommend him to anyone who wants to become a better guitarist and musician. I've been playing for 30 years, and this has been my first foray into formal instruction. As a 45-year-old player with a ton of bad habits, Dr. Seth has really been understanding, flexible, and extremely easy to work with. Both of my daughters took guitar lessons from Dr. Greenberg at the tender age of 7, and it was a wonderful experience for both of them! He is patient and supportive, gently building confidence and ability while fostering a general love of music. Seth is much more than a guitar teacher. At our first lesson, I noticed that he referred to his students as “players,” which already made me feel like one! His approach to teaching is very holistic, considering hand position and comfort with the size of the instrument, as well as individually tailoring his lessons to student’s needs. What I find most impressive is that while Seth’s academic credentials are outstanding, he is approachable and down-to-earth. I felt at ease as a new player. I'm also getting back into songwriting, and Seth’s overall musicality and expertise in both arranging, transcription, and composition have been very helpful in giving me the confidence to develop my own work. I've seen him play at professional gigs, and he is also an outstanding guitarist. He even provides performance opportunities for players. I highly recommend him!

I don't have enough words to say that accurately and completely describe my gratitude for Seth's teaching in my life. Seth taught me for many years, and I sought his teaching at various points in my musicianship. He planted seeds in my brain that would later bloom as I began to study music in college.
Seth is a fantastic teacher: I was always provided with enough fundamentals to do the heavy lifting required to progress on the instrument, encouraged to explore my own musical tastes and learn songs I loved, and was always taught with a patience and understanding support that gave me the confidence to push through the awkwardness of expanding my ability on the guitar.
For me, his teaching translated into much more than technical proficiency on the guitar and an understanding of music theory. Seth taught me what it means to have music as a companion in my life and gave me the tools to discover what that looks like for me.

I started lessons with Seth a few months ago. After lessons with 2 other teachers, I can really see the difference in his teaching style. He is patient and methodical in his instruction. He can easily define your strong and weak points and give exercises to progress. Playing along with Seth enforces a sense of timing I was truly lacking. Through his instruction, I can understand the importance of this and see I am improving. He gives just the right combination of structure and flexibility. I look forward to every class.
